Sclerotherapy is a procedure used to treat diseases of the vascular and lymphatic systems, as well as vascular neoplasms (vascular malformation).

To do this, a special medication is injected into the vessel to be treated, which causes its walls to shrink and subsequently resorption.

In childhood and adolescence, this method is mainly used to treat tumors of the vascular and lymphatic systems; in adults, it is most often used to treat varicose veins and hemorrhoids.

HOW DOES IT WORK

Sclerosing products can be in liquid or foam form. During a sclerotherapy session, the doctor performs 3 to 8 injections. The number of injections depends on the degree of vein damage and the type of sclerosing drug. This can take from 1 to 5 (on average 2-3) sessions. The number of procedures is determined by the doctor.
