What are pigment spots?
Pigment spots are an anomaly that changes the color of the skin through melanocytes. These are cells located in the skin, responsible for its pigmentation (coloring) by the secretion of melanin.
A change in the normal color of the skin is called a pigment spot. A spot can be hyperpigmented (brown) or hypopigmented (white).
As most of the time in cosmetology we refer to hyperpigmentation when it is the subject of pigment spots, it is these that we will discuss.
