Double Chin, what is it?
A deposit of fat, or loose skin on the neck and chin, can create a double chin. Unaesthetic or even annoying, a double chin can affect men and women of all ages. A double chin is not necessarily linked to obesity. It can appear in a person with a healthy weight within generally accepted norms. It is the abnormal development of adipocytes (a type of cellulite) in this part of the body which is the cause of the fatty deposits causing the double chin. This accumulation generally causes the skin to take on a soft and flabby consistency, sometimes with an “orange peel” appearance, grainy and dimpled.
