Double chin reduction
The accumulation of fat that forms a “double chin” can be caused by several factors, such as age, weight gain, genetics, etc., and Belkyra® destroys the cells of this unwanted fat. It is a product composed of deoxycholic acid, which does not fall into the category of botulinum toxin or filler. This injectable is used to reduce fat below the chin to create a more beautiful lower facial silhouette. Once these cells are destroyed, they will never come back.
Deoxycholic acid is naturally present in the human body: it helps eliminate dietary fats from the intestine. Injected into the double chin area, fat cells are destroyed.

Kybella® Belkyra® injections are not painful and do not require anesthesia. However, an anesthetic cream can be applied to make the injection session more comfortable. After cleaning the skin surface, the doctor administers the Kybella® treatment using multiple injections throughout the entire area under the chin strap.
You may feel tingling, a feeling of heaviness and warmth after the session, which fades quickly and can be relieved by applying ice. Hematomas at the injection sites and swelling are possible in the days that follow but, as a general rule, you can quickly return to your usual activities. The result is definitive. Fat cells are destroyed and do not return. Belkyra® is the equivalent of medical liposuction with, in addition, a shrinking effect due to the inflammatory reaction following the injection. Inflammatory side effects (redness, swelling, heat) are a sign that the product acts positively on skin retraction. Treatment may require up to 6 sessions spaced at least one month apart to achieve lasting results.
